GORMY RUCKLES
Gormy is very small, very blue, and very hairy. The most monstrous thing about him is his one quite good fang, which isn’t very monstrous at all. In spite of this, he’s absolutely and positively convinced that he’s got what it takes to be the most monstrous monster ever. He’ll do anything to prove he has the most monstrous roar, stomp and throw! If only his dad would let him leave Peatree Hill…
Grumbor Ruckles
GRUMBOR RUCKLES
Gormy’s father is the most monstrous monster in the valley. He’s as big as ten cows tied together and has so many horns, tusks and fangs that by the time you counted them all, he’ll have eaten you. Grumbor wants Gormy to be the best monster he can be, and that means a lot of monstering lessons on everything from roaring to rock-throwing!

MOGRA RUCKLES
Gormy’s mother is more monstrous than any mother you’ve ever met. She’s big, pink and so hairy that even bears are jealous of her. She doesn’t do too much monstering because of her weak ankles, but every now and again she likes to sneak out and terrify some hoomums or ransack the odd village. How she loves to ransack!
Mike the Scuttybug
MIKE THE SCUTTYBUG
Gormy’s best friend is a scuttybug called Mike. Mike’s small, greasy and green, and smells of his favourite food, poo. But he’s the best (and only) friend that Gormy’s ever had. Wherever Gormy goes, Mike goes too. He likes nothing more than climbing into Gormy’s backpack and joining him on a monstrous adventure – except rolling dung into a ball.
